Hello to everyone. I am new to wled and just got my first controller the LS8P. I am using the app and I have connencted the controller with a 5m WS2812B with 300 leds. I haven't still installed it, just checking it on my office. Very often I get a message that device is unreachable. This usually happens when I set that the number of leds are 300 and the current limit over 3A to the app. I am using for now my workbench power supply which is capable of 5A and it has a current meter on it.
Sometimes after leaving it off for some time the controller works. Sometimes I need to reset it and start again. I am in the basement where I have internet through a wifi powerline. What do you think is the problem? Is it a power supply issue? Should I power the led strip directly from the power supply and not through the controller? Do I need to update to the latest version (0.15) ?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english, I am from Greece.
I think it should be a power supply problem. Your light strip is 5V. The light strip is too long, causing the voltage to drop. When the voltage drops to 4.6V, the controller will not work properly. Therefore, you must inject power. The verification method is to remove the light strip or turn off the light strip, and then observe whether it works normally. If it works normally, it is caused by the power injection problem.
