Plugs

Following on from my esp8285 not booting after a grid outage, I'm looking at replacing my power monitoring plugs that are esp8285 with a esp32 version?

Any plans for these?

One of the 4 plugs purchased just switches off after a few minutes when being used. Worked perfectly for 2 months and now seems to have failed.

Has it failed, or is there any path to fix? Any ideas folks?

FYI: Still under warranty and purchased end of December 2025. I have emailed support but still awaiting a reply.

I have two of these plugs (possibly 3) that are broken.

One would not turn on the relay. I tried updating the firmware via OTA and got stuck in SAFEBOOT mode. I did a "reset 1" and no change (came back in SAFEBOOT. I did a "reset 2" and it did not come back. Nothing at all. No lights, no access point, no response to ping, no web UI. I tried plugging/unplugging 6-10 times quickly, no change. I tried holding the hardware button down for 30+ seconds and nothing.

The other one I have the relay appears to have stopped working. It would not stay on and kept shutting off. Now I cannot get it to turn the relay on even under just a lightbulb load. Tasmota is working and I can toggle but nothing is happening.

Is there a way to open these devices to inspect or access for…

I've a number of athom v2 plugs (UK) one of which has suddenly stopped turning off the power despite the toggle value being off. I can use the button on the plug which changes the toggle value but the power to connected devices remains on. I've upgraded firmware to v15.0.1 to try resolve, also had the plug disconnected from the mains for a while but still the issue exists.

Device has worked flawlesly until yesterday.

Suspect the device is now faulty but is there anything else I could try.
